Kaicycle - Working Bee

Join us at Kaicycle Urban Farm to learn how to regenerate the whenua and take climate action in your backyard! This will be a hands-on working bee where you'll have the chance to get your hands in the dirt and take some tangible climate action, while learning some great regenerative growing skills on the way. Tasks will depend on what needs doing on the day, but these might include weeding, planting out, building compost piles, and planting seeds. Our hard mahi will be followed by a shared lunch so please bring some kai to share if you can!

    Kaicycle is an urban farm & composting intiative in Newtown that has been operating for 10 years. Our purpose is to develop a circular & resilient food system in Wellington. We do this by connecting people of all ages with the whenua, sharing our knowledge on organic & regenerative growing practices, collecting & composting food scraps from local businesses and households on e-bikes, and donating the kai we produce to the Home of Compassion soup kitchen and the Newtown Community Centre.
