About this project

Wellington City Council (the Council) proposes to review and update the policy in accordance with the Building Act 2004. The review will also aim to align the policy with best practice as provided for in the guidance by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) as the central regulator of the building system.

Key changes include:

  • adding 'affected' to the title of the policy
  • clarifying the objectives of the policy
  • clarifying the policy principles
  • clarifying the priorities
  • other changes to address MBIE's recommendations
