A range of fun and inspiring programs and events, catering for customers of all ages, have been developed for the library. These range from Baby Rock & Rhyme to senior Tea & Tales; from coding clubs to Let’s go Lego sessions.

Current Library services include the sale of WCC rubbish bags, recycling bags, daily or monthly parking coupons and recycling bins. Customers can also use the internet service with free WIFI access.

We’re building a new two-storey library which will be three times larger than the current library. The new library will offer flexible, modern spaces complemented by the latest technology; as well as a makerspace – a creative, collaborative space dedicated to hands-on activity and learning.

The library is currently located at 5 Broderick Road, Johnsonville

There were some great suggestions and among them was the winning name, The Hive - Home of Invention & Various Experiments. “This name fits our new Makerspace because the space is a place where you can come and create, play and experiment with ideas, technology and your imagination. It is a first for Wellington City Libraries and hopefully a template for similar spaces in the future.” says Jamie.

The Keith Spry Pool facility includes a 25-metre heated indoor pool, diving pool, and toddlers' and children's play pools.

Swimming lessons for adults and children are available, and there are regular aqua fitness and aqua therapy classes.

The facility runs school holiday activities and hosts children’s birthday parties.

The spa and sauna are currently unavailable due to the construction work. A new spa and sauna will be installed when Waitohi opens next summer.

Keith Spry Pool is located at 15 Frankmoore Avenue.
