Nairnville Play Area Renewal

Consultation has concluded

The Nairnville play area is due for an upgrade, and we'd like to hear your feedback on the draft design.

In our concept design for the Nairnville play area renewal, we are proposing:

  • Increasing the number of swing seats in new frames
  • Adding an inclusive carousel
  • Adding 2 in-ground trampolines
  • Adding a large rope play module
  • Adding some balance beams
  • Adding a springer module
  • Changing to a 2 slide configuration don the bank
  • Adding a new junior play module
  • changing the surfacing to new synthetic surfaces

Please refer to the Nairnville Concept Proposal for more information.

We’d like to hear your feedback on the draft design, please let us know your thoughts by emailing playgrounds@wcc.govt.nz by 5pm 26 September 2022.

More information

Nairnville is a community play area, with enough activities to keep children and/or youth aged people entertained for at least an hour, with play opportunities for a range of age groups. Typically there will be a point of difference to other community playgrounds around the city. It is designed to service the immediate neighbourhood and local community within approximately 800–metre walking distance, which is ideally located in community parks or near neighbourhood centres

We're renewing these play areas to make them an even better place to play. You can read more about Wellington City Council’s strategic vision and planning for play areas in Wellington in the Play Spaces Policy (2017).
